Does the association between self-rated health and mortality vary by social class?
2009, Social Science and MedicineCitation Excerpt :An unemployed woman without a partner was coded as unclassified. There is some controversy over whether a woman's social class should be graded using her own occupation or that of her husband (Arber & Ginn, 1993; Arber & Lahelma, 1993). Arguments for grading according to a woman's own occupation are that a woman's earnings may influence the household standard of living or her job may expose her to health hazards.
