One of the common approaches around the world, and especially in the UK, is place-based policy and programming. This issue features two papers1 ,2 evaluating the much-vaunted Well London initiative in the UK. This is part of our goal to be the destination of choice for population health intervention research.3Well London has its roots in a 2006 initiative by the London Health Commission to establish the Well London Alliance, a new multi-sectoral partnership.
