    This book relates the story of Kris Holloway during a visit to Mali. Her voluntary work, which was guided by the Peace Corps of the USA, led her to live one of the most significant experiences of her professional and personal life between 1989 and 1991.

    To get an idea of the territory where the story took place, we have to remember that Mali is located in the middle of West Africa, at the medieval heart of Islamic learning.
