MOVING UPSTREAM AND BROADENING OUT

After 10 years editing this journal, it is interesting to reflect on how the nature of our authors’ submissions has changed over these years. There is a strong impression of moving upstream towards the determinants of health, or indeed the determinants of the determinants as Board Member Lowell Levin is always reminding us about where we need to be. At the same time, there is more breadth to the contributions of academics, and practitioners of public health alike have embraced the multidisciplinary, multi-agency challenge of the public health task.

It has also been gratifying to see how our request to identify the policy implications of papers’ findings has been responded to with enthusiasm. One consequence of these …
