Lowell reminds us in this month’s Aphorism of the dynamic and ephemeral nature of knowledge. Coupled with Bernard Choi’s observation in Speakers’ Corner that there are some 17 000 new biomedical books published every year along with 30 000 biomedical journals, then surely knowledge management requires our attention if we are not to drown in the irrelevant?
