Dear Editor

We read the article by Kposowa[1] and wondered whether the author considered that the high suicide rate in divorced men could be attributed to the fact that women get primary custody of the children over 90% of the time in divorces in the US? In the majority of divorces, females get custody of the children and men are assessed child support that greatly exceeds the cost of raising children. In most cases this leaves the fathers below the poverty level. This is compounded by the fact that they have become visitors to their children.
