THE NOOKS AND CRANNIES OF PUBLIC HEALTH: THROWING LIGHT IN DARK CORNERS

In this issue, we throw light on various issues, groups and geographical areas that are hidden in the shadows. Sometimes, we get really excited about the offerings which we bring you in this journal, and this month brings a largess of riches. In particular, Clarence Tam’s "Newspeak for epidemiologists" seems destined to be a classic resource paper that will make public health academics sit up and think. Reductionism in epidemiology is no longer sufficient, and any sentient academic will be challenged by Clarence’s contribution.
See page 178

Housing and regeneration are at the heart of public health, and we touch on them with some frequency. This month’s Gallery, linked to a paper by Thomson and colleagues, questions the criteria by which housing and regeneration are evaluated.
